Denise Ammoun signs
« Histoire du Liban contemporain » Volume II
1943-1990 The world of politics, diplomacy, culture and the press, as well as the friends of Denise Ammoun, met last Friday at Librairie Antoine - ABC Ashrafieh for the signature of her latest work: « Histoire du Liban Contemporain » tome II 1943-1990 the continuation of « Histoire du Liban Contemporain » tome I 1860-1943, For which she received the Phénix 1997. Denise Ammoun who took Journalism for a career, lives in Cairo. She is the correspondent of the daily press « La Croix » since 1982 and the correspondent of the weekly magazine « Le Point » since 1985.

A tribute to the painter Mounir C. Najm
In a triangular operation realized by Lions Club of France, Tunisia and Lebanon, the university center of Mar Abda will be endowed, next spring, with an arranged garden as a posthumous tribute to the painter Mounir Constantine Najm, former LU professor and native of Deir El Qamar.
Due to its location, (bordering the Lebanese University, section of Deir El Qamar directed by Mme Layla Saab and the official secondary school directed by Mr. Georges Stephan) this garden will be easily accessible to the students of all the institutions of the center.
This project was launched due to:
The initiative of the deputy Georges Dib Nehme, the following of Mr. Gaby Tabet
and the sponsorship of the president of the municipality Mr. Dory Chamoun.
The ceremony of the posing of the first stone was held on November 30th, 2004 in the city of the Emirs with the presence of Mr. Georges Dib Nehme, Mr. Dory Chamoun, 4 governors of the district 103 France: Mr. Alain Armand (president), Alain Grouselle (2nd Vice-president), Jean-Marie Haguenoer (secretary) et Edgard Leblanc (treasurer), 1st counselor of Tunisian embassy Mr. Salaheddine Ben Obeid (representing the Tunisian club of Sfax Thyna), the governor of the district 351 (Lebanon- Jordan) Mr. Samir Abou Samra, the president of Saint-Nicolas club Mr. Emile Issa, director of the district of the francophone relations Mr. Gaby Tabet, former governor Mr. Gaby Gebrayel, director of French cultural center Mr. Arnaud Chamasse, Mme Layla Saab, former student of Mounir Najm and director of the LU section of Deir El Qamar
and many responsible of the educational and cultural institutions of DeirElQamar.
Was also present, the daughter of the painter, Mme Joumana and her husband Mr. Roni Rahme and many other parents particularly Dr. Joseph Yammine and Mr. Nazih Yammine.
